Rewriting the Rules of Access

Client:: Avanza Sports Management | Barcelona, Spain

The Challenge

Professional tennis celebrates meritocracy. In reality, the path to the professional tour is often determined long before the first ATP or WTA point is played.

For many gifted junior players, the greatest obstacle isn't talent—it is capital. The cost of elite coaching, strength and conditioning, physiotherapy, equipment, tournament entry fees, international travel, accommodations, and year-round competition can easily exceed six figures annually. For countless athletes around the world, extraordinary potential is never given the opportunity to compete.

Traditional sports agencies are designed to identify proven talent after it has already emerged. Few are structured to invest in the talented young players whose greatest barrier is simply the ability to stay in the game.

The question became:

What if a sports agency were designed not simply to represent success—but to create access to it?

The Journey

Working with Avanza Sports Management in Barcelona, Green::House helped develop a fundamentally different model for athlete representation—one that measures success not only by rankings, endorsements, or financial returns, but by expanding opportunity itself.

Rather than viewing elite tennis through the traditional lens of talent acquisition, we reframed the challenge as one of access.

The resulting concept blends the discipline and expertise of a world-class sports management firm with the mission and values of a social-impact organization. The model seeks philanthropic investment, strategic partnerships, and mission-aligned funding to identify, develop, and support exceptional young players who possess the talent to compete—but lack the financial means to pursue a professional career.

Instead of asking which athletes are already privileged enough to succeed, the model asks a different question:

Whose future are we overlooking simply because they cannot afford the journey?

In doing so, Avanza is exploring a new category of sports agency—one that invests in human potential before the market recognizes its value.

The Progress

The initiative represents a bold reimagining of what athlete management can become.

By shifting the definition of return on investment beyond financial performance alone, the Green::House and Avanza partnership seeks to generate measurable social impact alongside competitive success. Every athlete who reaches the professional ranks through this model represents more than an individual victory—it demonstrates that excellence exists everywhere, while opportunity does not.

Ultimately, the ambition is larger than producing champions.

It is to rewrite the rules governing who has the chance to become one.

As Green::House founder Howell J. Malham Jr. explains:

"We will know we have succeeded with this Green::House/Avanza initiative when we have made success stories like Francis Tiafoe less rare in the world of professional tennis."

The future of tennis should not belong only to those who can afford it.

It should belong to those who are talented enough to earn it. ::

Ultimately, the ambition is larger than producing champions.

It is to rewrite the rules governing who has the chance to become one.
