Walker helps people, companies, and ideas find their way back to each other in the social impact sector. He does this as a strategist who designs programs, partnerships, and platforms that close the distance. He is founder and CEO of Daybreak Collaborative, a social impact consultancy. Daybreak partners with nonprofits, foundations, civic organizations, and purpose-driven companies on strategy, programming, and new initiatives. Alongside Daybreak sits Daybreakers, a coaching initiative for students and early-career professionals — designed to keep him connected to the people already living inside the world many organizations are still trying to understand. His past partners include Hinge, Teach For America, American Red Cross, United Way, Foot Locker, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The work has spanned award-winning campaigns, purpose-driven product launches, and platforms that mobilize communities for good. Before Daybreak, Walker founded Covalent, a nonprofit education platform that trained 150+ college students in digital marketing and provided pro bono support to 80+ small businesses and nonprofits. His writing has appeared in Fast Company, Vogue Business, the Chicago Sun-Times, and Nonprofit PRO. Chicago-raised and Brooklyn-based, Walker spends his time outside of work producing house music, DJing between the two cities, and raising his rescue cat, Seamus.
