Howell is president of GREEN::HOUSE, which he founded in 2014. Previously, he co-founded Insight Labs, the world’s first philanthropic think tank, which tackled a host of complex social challenges in partnership with organizations such as NASA, Harvard Medical School, US Department of State, Kigali Genocide Memorial, Boeing, The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, GRAMMYs, Walter Reed Military Medical Hospital, NEA, and others. He is also a founding director of UX for Good. Howell was the first innovator in residence at USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, where he developed Innovation Dynamics™, informed by the GREEN::HOUSE Theory of Social Change—the heart of GREEN::HOUSE’s process. As a brand strategist, Howell has worked with Walgreens, Allstate, Universal Studios, 20th Century Fox, LEGO, Quaker Oats, and HarperCollins. He has also written for The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune and Fast Company. He is the author of I Have A Strategy (No You Don’t): The Illustrated Guide To Strategy(Wiley /Jossey-Bass).
