Cory Garfin

Cory Garfin works with nonprofits and mission-driven organizations as a thought partner, surfacing insights, shaping strategy, and building AI tools and capacity to help them engage their communities and imagine new possibilities for impact. Formerly co-director of Slover Linett at NORC, Cory spent nearly a decade as a researcher and strategist for arts and cultural organizations across the country, including the High Line, Carnegie Hall, StoryCorps, and the Obama Presidential Center. In previous work with Greenhouse, Cory was an Innovator in Residence at the USC School of Social Work. He holds an MFA in Writing from CalArts and a masters degree from Carnegie Mellon’s Entertainment Technology Center, and now writes the Substack newsletter AI for English Majors. Cory lives in Chicago with his wife, son, and mischievous and adorable dog Coco.
